Little Chef Popham
Little Chef hit the small screens earlier this year, as Michelin-starred chef Heston Blumenthal revamped our menu and the look of one of our restaurants as part of a Channel 4 documentary, ‘Big Chef takes on Little Chef’.
The new-style Little Chef was initially being trialled at our Popham restaurant on the A303 near Basingstoke and the programme charted the journeys of both Heston and his vision for a 21st century Little Chef, and the employees involved.
Since the Popham restaurant reopened to the public at the end of November, the reaction to the menu and fresh new look has been fantastic. Here is what some of the customers have been saying:
“The new design and quality of design has changed my perception of Little Chef for the better”
“Looks fresher, brighter and on the up”
“A proper restaurant with well-cooked food and friendly service. We’ll come again”
“I would happily visit a Little Chef again”
“The games for children and jelly beans are great ideas”
“The quality of serving staff at Popham is very high”
“My perception of Little Chef has changed – most definitely for the better”
“I will look forward to my next visit – it was great, thank you”
“The atmosphere and seating were both comfortable. The staff are friendly and the games are a great idea.”
“We were very impressed with our visit and the new décor. Excellent.”
The trial in Popham has proved a success and already learnings are being fed into our latest menu which launches late May
Working with Heston has been a great experience and we are due to meet him again next month to discuss the future. In the meantime, if you want to sample the new-look Little Chef for yourself, then head down to the Popham restaurant and enjoy the food, the games and the service… and believe us when we say that a trip to the loo will never be the same again…
